A Liminal Space. . . But Time. . .

Okay, now that the non-time between December 24 and January 12 is over I can sit down and really focus. Time isn't real. Doubly so during December and January. So, I am working on drafting a pair of pants. I found this pattern on Mood Fabrics. (https://www.moodfabrics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/MoodFabrics.com-MDF221-Calamint-Pattern-1.pdf) It's a fairly simple pattern that shouldn't take too long to finish. I have this fabric that I bought years ago and can not, for the life of me remember what I was going to make out of it. It's going to be pants now. This fabric dyes nicely, so even though these pants will more or less be a mock up, if they end up being wearable; super bonus. I'll probably dye them dark blue to really make them look like jeans. I hate cutting patterns. I don't think there is anyone who loves cutting patterns. It's a tedious process and I always feel like I'm going to majorly fuck it up. Even with this pattern...

The Journey Begins

  When I was a child I loved unicorns. I couldn't get enough movies, toys, or art that featured the mystical beast. I still, to this day, love them and go out of my way to find the coolest and most unique unicorn items.   She's an icon!   The film adaption of The Last Unicorn was and still is my most loved movie of all time. There is no hesitation when I get asked that question. I practically scream “The Last Unicorn!” The style of the animation, especially the opening, is something that has influenced me for years. You can imagine how delighted I was to learn that the opening of my favorite movie was inspired by a series of tapestries that I could see with my own eyes. An obsession began. I had always wanted to do a deep-dive, study into The Unicorn Tapestries, but due to life lifing, I had to put it off time and again.
